Developing Your Case for Support (Full Day)
The importance to your organisation of a clear, concise and compelling Case for Support is vital to your success in securing donors and supporters. Simply put, telling a compelling story effectively, at the right time and to the right audience will have a huge impact on your ability to engage supporters and raise funds for your charity. The course will empower participants to develop an inspiring case for support that creates a uniform message about why they are important as a charity, how they make a difference and what people can do to support or get involved. Developing Your Fundraising Strategy (Full Day)
A comprehensive and effective fundraising strategy is at the core of sustainability for any charity. Taking a strategic approach to fundraising will help ensure that your charity has a mixed income approach which focuses energy and resources to those fundraising areas that will bring maximum return, both in the short-term and long-term. It will also help you to ensure that your fundraising efforts support your charity to fulfill its mission, vision and objectives, rather than detract from the valuable work that you do. Developing Corporate Relationships (Full Day)
This course has been designed to help you and your charity understand the opportunities for engaging with and working with companies. The course will look at the different ways in which companies may get involved with charities; whether that be through financial donations, gifts in kind, sponsorship or through employee volunteering. We will also explore the criteria and requirements that corporate supporters will be looking for when choosing which charities to support and how you can use these to identify and secure support from the companies that have the best fit with your organisation. Charity Leaders: Fundraising (AM Half Day)
One of the key strategic responsibilities of the Trustee Board is to ensure that the charity has sufficient resources to pursue its aims and objectives. This responsibility requires Trustees to take an active interest in fund development. This workshop will cover the key areas that Trustees should be focussing on to discharge their responsibility. Charity Leaders: Risk Management (PM Half Day)
Charity trustees are responsible for ensuring that risks to the charity are regularly reviewed and that they focus their attention on taking actions to address the most serious risks to the charity. As a delegated role, senior staff (or those working directly to deliver services) should regularly review and assess the risks faced by their charity in all areas of its work and plan for the management of those risks. Risk is an everyday part of charitable activity and managing it effectively is essential if the charity is to achieve its key objectives and ensure the funds and assets are safeguarded.
