Broker secures grant to make a difference in small charity sector
Specialist broker, UK Charity Insurance, has obtained a £2,500 grant to help boost a small charity’s vital work.
The recipient, the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI) is a charity that provides free or heavily-subsidised capacity-building training and advice to other small charities and community groups.
Through the FSI’s learning programme voluntary sector organisations are able to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence in areas such as fundraising, governance, impact measurement and strategy development.
UK Charity Insurance applied for the funding through the insurer Ecclesiastical’s ‘Closer To You’ initiative which gives select brokers the chance to be part of their ambition to give away £100M to good causes.
Neil Franklin, MD of UK Charity Insurance, said “We chose to support the FSI because of the huge impact it makes in the charity sector. We have been privileged to work alongside them to deliver charity risk training in the areas of cyber, financial risk and Trustee roles and responsibilities so have seen first-hand how they add value and help beneficiaries to become the best they can be.”
Amber Shotton, Head of Fund Development at the FSI responded “Thank you so much – this kind gift will enable the FSI to continue to offer learning opportunities and help more small and local charities achieve their mission. Our work both in the UK and overseas benefits hundreds and thousands of the most disadvantaged in society each year.”
Due to the unique way the FSI operates the grant will equate to almost £13,000 worth of delivered services which in turn means the investment doesn’t just stop with the FSI.
