In this interactive, reflective session, you’ll think about where best to prioritise your time as a sole fundraiser or a small team and how to maximise your resources.
About Katie Borland, Sheffield Young Carers
Katie Borland is Director of Funding and External Relations at Sheffield Young Carers (SYC). As part of the charity’s three-strong senior management team, Katie is responsible for SYC’s fundraising, its public profile and the charity’s monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes. Katie has worked for Sheffield Young Carers since 2012 and brings over 20 years’ experience of fundraising, PR and communications to the role. She has worked for national and local charities and in the public and private sector in a variety of fundraising and marketing roles. From community fundraising and individual giving through to trust fundraising and tendering for public sector contracts, Katie has considerable experience of a wide range of fundraising channels and techniques. Her current focus is on diversifying the charity’s income streams to reduce its reliance on grant funding and public sector contracts and to ensure its sustainability at a time of unprecedented need.
About Amber Shotton, the FSI
Amber is the FSI’s Chief Operating Officer. She brings with her significant experience in statutory funding with local, regional and national funding bodies, building strong partnerships with charities including negotiating commercial agreements, and co-designing of new solutions across multiple sectors. Amber has also worked with small charities on developing their Impact Measurement Frameworks, fundraising strategies, project evaluation and organisational reviews. In addition, Amber has co-chaired a national justice forum for two sector associations and a degree in Business Studies.
