Developing Corporate Relationships (Full Day)

This course has been designed to help you and your charity understand the opportunities for engaging with and working with companies. The course will look at the different ways in which companies may get involved with charities; whether that be through financial donations, gifts in kind, sponsorship or through employee volunteering. We will also explore the criteria and requirements that corporate supporters will be looking for when choosing which charities to support and how you can use these to identify and secure support from the companies that have the best fit with your organisation.

Developing your Case for Support (Full Day)

The importance to your organisation of a clear, concise and compelling Case for Support is vital to your success in securing donors and supporters. Simply put, telling a compelling story effectively, at the right time and to the right audience will have a huge impact on your ability to engage supporters and raise funds for your charity. The course will empower participants to develop an inspiring case for support that creates a uniform message about why they are important as a charity, how they make a difference and what people can do to support or get involved. Within this interactive course delegates prepare and deliver presentations to the rest of the group, help each other to deliver their organisation’s best selling points and leave with their Case for Support structure in place, ready to complete when they return to their organisations. 

Good Governance for Charity Leaders (Half Day)

Strong and effective governance is essential to ensuring charities are able to deliver their purpose and impact. This course will look at how to key legal duties and responsibilities of trustees and how these translate in practice to ensure effective governance. This course will be of benefit to CEO/senior staff, Chairs and Trustees who want to find out how they can ensure they deliver good governance and get the best out of their Trustee Boards. This course will provide an overview for people who are new to trusteeship and governance as well as a refresher for those who are more experienced. 

Recruiting and Retaining Trustees for Charity Leaders (Half Day)

This half day workshop will cover the following areas: Skills audits: developing a balanced and diverse Board and identifying your gaps; Recruitment process: role descriptions, advertising, interview process; Offering the role and integrating into the Board Induction: ensuring your trustees are equipped to carry out their role; Development and retention: keeping your trustees motivated, involved and able to contribute their knowledge, skills and experience.
