Matt began working in the field of Community Regeneration and Grant making at the Coalfields Regeneration Trust in 2001. Progressing through the organisation from Grant Worker to Community Development Worker, he gained valuable experience of grant assessment, community development and working closely with third sector organisations to develop sustainable community projects.

Since September 2005, Matt has led on the delivery of CC+ and has been responsible for the design of all marketing and outreach, guidance, assessment and monitoring processes as well as direction of the Grant management team to ensure the provision of quality support, guidance and capacity building to grant holders across the country.
