Our First Impact Review
We began our work with a new Partner
Tuesday, 04 September 2007
Over the last few weeks we began our work with a new Partner, undertaking first an initial review and then working with them to see how we might work together to build their organisation. It’s heady and exciting stuff but what is so amazing is the support the CEO is giving. Its crazy when you have so many passionate and creative people working in grassroots organisations and they get tied up in the ‘low income, low resource, low income’ trap and spend all their creative energy trying to ‘keep their heads above water’. It feels good to work with them so that they can concentrate on doing what’s right for the people they were set up to help.
Our relationship was cemented this week when we offered them a 1:1 Partnership which means that we will work together over the next few years as Partners to build their organisation. How amazing is that, to work with committed people who inspire you each day. It’s at times like these when I feel privileged to be able to do what we do and I feel blessed by the support our Trustees give so that we can help make a difference.
Today is a milestone, The FSI is hosting its first ever training event at Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire entitled ‘An Introduction to Major Gifts’. I am looking forward to meeting with the 20 delegates who are coming to spend the next two days with us and the great thing is it isn’t costing them a thing – we have even paid for the accommodation.
Wish me luck – going down to grab some toast and get my notes in order!
