And then the summer just flew by...

And then the summer just flew by…….. It’s been a really busy summer here at the FSI we are busily preparing for our Forum in October – Sharing the Best ‘Innovation’. Here’s an open invitation to attend, get in touch with This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it if you want to come along (check out the page on this site) we haven’t sent out invitations yet and we are over 50% full.

The other thing that’s catching our attention is how difficult it is for charities who are at the Vision Stage of their organisations life cycle to develop the infrastructure needed to step up to Emerging and then take that next leap to become fully functioning and in their Prime.

We have worked with so many organisations this last two years and been inspired by those smaller grassroots organisations who are at that exciting time of their lives where imagination and inspiration are high, where there’s lots of enthusiasm, energy and creativity and where they are asking themselves the question ‘Can we really make this happen?'  Unfortunately the thing that holds most of them back is the ability to backfill the infrastructure to give them a firm platform on which to build and grow.

We were incredibly lucky with support from A4e one of our donors which enabled us to take that leap with confidence. My mind is going to be on the question of how FSI might give more support to Charities in the Visionary and Emerging stages of their development – watch this space for more.
