News Feed - Keep Up to Date

Friday, 04 July 2008

The FSI has just launched our RSS Feeds for our News and Blog.

You can be updated with new Blog or News entries straight to your computer.

What is a news feed?
News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

You need to download a News Reader, but don't worry there are lots of free ones on the internet. At The FSI we're using: NewsGator Feed Demon for free but there are lots of others.

Have a look at the BBCs guide to News Feeds.

To subscribe to our Feeds simply drag the RSS logo (on the homepage, bottom right, or on the News or Blog pages) into your News Reader.

Other useful websites you can subscribe to feeds from:
Third Sector - the UK’s leading publication for everyone who needs to know what’s going on in the voluntary and not-for-profit sector.

This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it if you use others that are useful - then we can share them with everyone.

Opportunities

Friday, 04 July 2008

We, at The FSI, think of you all when we hear about great opportunities.

We have just read about this amazing scheme through Vodafone Foundation – have a read through below and encourage any volunteers/supporters you have to apply.

Also the TalkTalk opportunity sounds great - harnessing the power of the interntet (see below).

Here's what Vodafone Foundation have to say:

Change your world and make a World of Difference

Have you ever wanted to make a difference? Well, so do we. Sometimes however, life can get in the way.

But what if you could devote a whole year of your time to a charity and get paid to do it? We're offering you the amazing chance to work for a charity of your choice, plus you could earn up to £25,000 plus £20,000 in expenses for your time. It's all thanks to World of Difference, a programme established by The Vodafone Group Foundation.

We have four places to offer, so if you are ready to follow your calling, apply now. Applications close 31 July 2008.

Viist the website for more information.

Job Posting Opportunity for Smaller Charities

Thursday, 03 July 2008

We, at The FSI, love to support smaller charities in any way we can.

So, if you have a job you would like to advertise then visit our Job Posting page and we’ll advertise it on the Careers page of our website for free. What better way to increase your profile and reach more people to get them interested in what you do?

What is a ‘smaller charity’ you may ask? Well, we support 100% Not-for-profit organisations with less than £3 million Raised Voluntary Income (Non-Government donated income). If you fit that group and want to take up the opportunity to advertise just download the form on the Job Posting page.
