Tiny Tickers
Every year in the UK, 5,000 babies are born with heart disease.
About half of these babies will need specialist care and surgery in the first year of life.
Tiny Tickers aims to improve the care of "heart babies" before birth ... by raising awareness, training and setting standards.
Heart disease that develops before birth is known as congenital heart disease (congenital literally means "born with").
Our training is helping to improve detection of heart disease at the routine anomaly scan in mid pregnancy.

Mission statement
Our Aims
1. Women should be offered the opportunity to have their baby screened for heart problems before birth.
2. This screening examination should detect most forms of congenital heart disease.
3. There should be sufficient resources and trained specialists to care for babies with heart conditions and support families.
If all these aims are met, more heart babies could have a prenatal diagnosis, allowing their families and doctors to be involved in their care.
