Shared Care Network
Shared Care Network was founded by short break scheme organisers who felt a need for a co-ordinating national body to share information and promote good practice in this newly developing field. It was registered as a charity in March 1990. Today, Shared Care Network represents around 180 services UKwide providing short break services to support disabled children and their families.

• Support those working in the sector by providing short break specific training, consultancy, information, resources and carer recruitment services.
• Lobby the governments and assemblies of the United Kingdom to influence policy and practice.
• Raise awareness of the opportunities and benefits short breaks offer disabled children and their families.
