Pathfinder Dogs

Pathfinder Guide Dog Programme raises and trains German Shepherd dogs as guides for blind people in the UK. We were born in 2003. It takes 2 1/2 years to qualify one of our dogs. Our first dog qualified in February 2010. We currently have 2 puppies coming through training (July 2010). We also have an education/awareness project that we role out to community groups (indirect beneficiaries) talking about the charity, blindness and working dogs.

Mission statement

Pathfinder Guide Dog Programme raises and trains German Shepherd dogs as guides to blind people in the UK, supporting both dog and handler throughout their lives, whilst promoting the organisation's ethos of community involvement, and animal welfare.
