The principal activities of IFCO are to promote and organise co-operation in achieving the improvement of the quality of service given to children and others in care and to that end bring together associations of foster parents, representatives of authorities and organisations engaged in advancing foster care and relieving distress of children and others in care to assist their work. There are no paid staff - all work is done by volunteers.
