Action Deafness
Action Deafness works with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deafened and Deafblind children, young people, adults and older people across Leicester, Leicestershire and the East Midlands. The organisations Head Office is based in Leicester and from here we provide a range of services including British Sign Language Courses and Deaf Awareness Training, Advocacy, IAG, Communication and Interpreting and other specialist services.
Mission statement
Action Deafness aims to improve quality of life by promoting independence and equality of opportunity for Deaf, Deafened, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people.
We aim to do this by:
- Promoting effective communication and improving access to services.
- Increasing the status and participation of deaf and hard of hearing people from diverse backgrounds.
- Providing specialist support, learning and community services.
