Is it really six months since we did the private launch of The FSI?

Monday, 10 September 2007
Is it really six months since we did the private launch of The FSI at the A4e One Vision Conference?  We are so grateful for the amazing support A4e our Founding Investors and the people who with Emma had the vision to make The FSI happen.  A4e have taken the pain out of our journey giving us fabulous ‘back office’ support, great encouragement and sound advice.

We began our work with a new Partner

Tuesday, 04 September 2007
Over the last few weeks we began our work with a new Partner, undertaking first an initial review and then working with them to see how we might work together to build their organisation.  It’s heady and exciting stuff but what is so amazing is the support the CEO is giving.  Its crazy when you have so many passionate and creative people working in grassroots organisations and they get tied up in the ‘low income, low resource, low income’ trap and spend all their creative energy trying to ‘keep their heads above water’.  It feels good to work with them so that they can concentrate on doing what’s right for the people they were set up to help.

I met with an amazing Foundation

Friday, 15 June 2007
You know how it feels when you have a meeting and ‘it just works’, well that’s how I felt on Monday this week.  I met with an amazing Foundation who really ‘got’ what The FSI was all about and were so enthused by what we are trying to do.  When you are starting up it’s so important to have those boosts of confidence and energy that someone appreciating and being enthusiastic about what you are trying to achieve gives you.  I immediately had to ‘phone a friend’ and just tell someone how great life is.

Roller coaster of emotions

Monday, 14 May 2007
It certainly is a roller coaster of emotions starting up a charity from scratch, even if like The FSI you have amazing people who are supporting you to make that happen.

It would be difficult to explain the absolute joy and elation I felt one evening just before Christmas last year when I received one of those life changing calls from someone I had come to admire, trust and respect over the last 6 years.
