Monday, January 4th, 2010Well Done Emma
We are thrilled that Em has received this amazing award (see her blog) but I’m now going to say what she hasn’t: Emma came into my life in 2002 and over the last eight years she has inspired me with her ability, dedication and unwavering belief in our ability to build a better society.
At the NSPCC, where she was a phenomenally empowering Chairman, and now at the FSI, Emma has demonstrated her a massive vision for small charities throughout the UK and beyond, a vision where she pushes me every day to make what we do more relevant, more creative and more important for small charities. Every day continues to inspire me and every day she is there when I need her.
You guys know what it’s like trying to push your small charities up the hill to do even better for those you support; here at the FSI we go through that process only its you who we want to support, you who we want to be better for and you whose work for those you help keeps us going. I promise you its Emma that keeps us on track demanding that we are the best we can be for you – she cares about you, cares about those you support.
When I learnt of this Honour the first thoughts to come to mind were “wow, amazing, and frankly, well deserved”. WELL DONE EMMA – Great that others have cottoned on to what we’ve known for ages – it takes a special person to care about so many and someone with masses of creativity to envisage the FSI for so many small charities. Here’s to being pushed even harder in the future and loving every minute of it.
