Forum 2009 – Mark Santos
Mark Santos is the Director of Positive East the London wide HIV Charity with an East London focus. The Charity supports people living with HIV gain and sustain their independence and works to prevent the onward transmission of HIV. Mark is passionate about the work the Charity does in enabling people living with HIV, to overcome the barriers, to fulfil their potential. In January 2010 he will have been the Charity’s Director for a decade and in total worked at Positive East for 14 years. Previously Mark worked in a local authority housing advice centre, was a volunteer and relief worker at Shelter, member of a Community Health Council (till their demise), and a Governor of 2 Primary schools. He is currently a trustee of a Community Gardens run on permaculture principles which he believes gives real meaning to concept of sustainable living.
