A little car can make a lot of money
We’re delighted to confirm that the winning ticket; 64294 belongs to Jill Graham, who bought a ticket to raise money for Daisy Chain - Congratulations to Jill and to all participating charities who collectively raised nearly £70,000!
At the fourth FSI Forum on 14th October, a year of planning and hard work culminated in the draw of the Great Big small Charity Car Draw. Gary Newlyn from Zurich Insurance, sponsor of the Car Draw, drew the winner from the 34,780 tickets sold.
The winner was Jill Graham bought her ticket to support Daisy Chain, an autism charity based in the North East, and is now the proud owner of a funky MINI First!
The results of the 2010 Car Draw were fantastic with charities raising almost twice the average result of 2009! Here are some of the highlights:
- 211 charities took part in 2010 Great Big small Charity Car Draw;
- 34,780 tickets were sold at £2 each meaning £69,560 was raised for small charities;
- 16.28% of the sales were online and 83.72% were offline/ paper ticket sales;
- The average amount of funds raised from the car draw per charity was £329.67. This is a huge increase on last year’s £180 average;
- The top selling charity this year was Daisy Chain who raised nearly £6000.
Other outstanding charities included Peterborough Soup Kitchen which raised over £3,000, African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust and The Animal House Rescue each of which raised over £2,000, and 11 other charities which raised over £1,000.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Great Big small Charity Car Draw; this is one of our most fun and successful events and we hope that everyone who took part this year, as a seller or a buyer, will support this initiative next year.
